Mango

(Mangifera indica)

Mango is an eco-friendly wood native to Hawaii and some Asian Sources. Similar to Olivewood, Mango trees are often harvested for lumber after they stop bearing fruit. Heartwood is usually golden-brown, but a kaleidoscope of colors can be found such as pink, yellow, and even black due to the spalting that is commonly present. The wood is often figured with curly grain and sometimes contains spalting. Paler sapwood is not always clearly defined.
