Description

Western Red Cedar Soundboard

Grade: A

The soft red-brown timber has a tight, straight grain, few knots and great sound projection.  It is valued for its distinct appearance, aroma, and its high natural resistance to decay. Its light weight, strength and dark warm sound make it a popular choice for guitar soundboards.

It is interesting to note that the Western Red Cedar is not a true cedar tree of the genus Cedrus, but instead an evergreen coniferous tree in the cypress family Cupressaceae native to western North America.

Tighter Grain Than All The Guitars I Currently Own!!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
Total Rating: 0 1 2 3 4

I originally bought this top to repair a hole in an old guitar but decided to build a new guitar to my specifications. I can use the waste wood to repair the hole in the other guitar. The top has a nice close grain that is tighter than all of the tops of the guitars that I currently own.
