Factory 2nds... Pieces may have a small knot, discoloration or be undersized.  These are perfectly usable pieces and quite honestly should just be sold as  1sts, but they don't quite meet our standard for our premium binding. Our loss is your gain! 

 

Padauk Solid Wood Binding Strips-2nds

 

Padauk 2nds:

Botanical Name: Pterocarpus soyauxii

Distribution: Central and tropical west Africa

Padauk is an open and straight grained with a coarse texture. It is easy to work with and glues and finishes well. Padouk offers an extremely beautiful, exotic look to your next custom build. While tonally, and visually similar to Indian Rosewood, it has a striking reddish/orange color when freshly cut creating a stunning visual effect. Its unique coloring will darken with exposure to light.

Each unbent strip is approximately:

Height: 0.206" ( 5.25mm) 

Width: 0.139" ( 3.53mm) 

Air Dried Yes
